English for Theology (3 credits, 1500min)

Apr 22 (Tuesday, Apr 18 holiday), Jun 17 (Tuesday, May 9 holiday)

Goals
1. Practice speaking and listening of Religious
English.
2. Facilitate reading and writing of Theological English.
Aims
1. Revise basic grammar rules: parts of
speech, tenses, prepositions, participles, etc.
2. Analise constituents of sentences.
3. Polish listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
4. Learn theological academic vocabs.
5. Understand genre and parts of texts.
Requirements
1. Attend lectures and participate in
activities.
2. Participate in dictations weekly (20%) and post a sentence daily (20%).
3. Write a 1-page Testimony (~1000 words) (20%).
4. Write a 1-page Academic Writing (~1000 words) (20%).
5. Attend the examination (20%).

-Introduction (~200-250 words): This is a life story of …
-Content (~500 words): historical, descriptive, narrative, emotional, rational
-Conclusion (~200-250 words): meaning, inspiring
-Cover page: follow school requirements

1. Choose a small topic from the Apostle Creed or Lord’s Prayer.
2. Write in academic style based on different disciplines (Bible Studies, Theology, Church History, Pastoral Studies, Counseling, Christian Education)
3. Quote 3 footnotes.
