COURSE DESCRIPTION:
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected to be able to:
1. Discuss several types of family relationships – marital, intergenerational, and sibling ties – that have an important influence on well-being, from both psychological and pastoral perspectives.
2. Discuss the concept of Family Calling from the Christian (theological) perspective.
3. Discuss how religious faith influence marital satisfaction and quality;
4. Discuss the relationship between religion and parenting;
5. Discuss the relationship between spirituality and family relationships from the perspective of the recent development in positive psychology;
6. Describe and discuss the emerging work of relational spirituality, as a new paradigm for human and spiritual development;
7. Discuss the application of relational spirituality in Chinese families with respect to family relationships transformation, which will ultimately lead to relational spiritual growth.
